Battle of the Books

Updated: Apr 18, 2023

Exciting news! The top grade teams from our school battles are invited to attend regionals at Rose Creek Elementary on Friday April 28th! If you would like to cheer on our Daybreak teams you are welcome to attend. Location: Rose Creek Elementary's gym on Friday April 28th from 1:30-2:30pm.

Battle of the Books will be held on March 22nd & March 23rd. Have your students memorize the title and author of the books they have read since those will be the answers to the battle questions.

Your child will participate as a team with classmates to answer questions about the books. They will need to know the Title and Author of the books. There are 20 books in all, so reading more will benefit their team. We encourage all students to participate in this reading program by at least reading their 5 assigned books. They get a dog tag for each book they read, and they get prizes after each 5 books they read.

Your child can listen to the books (audio books can be found at the public library, Libby app, or YouTube), or you can read the books to them.

Remember to fill out and sign the slip which comes with each book, so your child can be entered into the monthly prize drawings. If they need more slips for extra books they have read at home, they can come to the library to pick them up.

Battle of the Books is a reading incentive program for students in 3rd thru 6th grades. Students read books and come together in groups to demonstrate their abilities and to test their knowledge of the books they have read. The student competitions will be held March 22nd, 23rd. We will need parents to help with the student competitions. Click here to sign up!
